I was always fairly active growing up. I played basketball and ran track throughout high school. When I first went to college I really lost track of that health focus, due to all the new distractions I was surrounded by. Eventually, I ended up trying a few different things including yoga and kickboxing but did not stick with them long-term. After trying a few more things, I knew I needed to find something that would challenge me while also keeping me interested as if every day was new. I first fell in love with CrossFit back in 2016. Immediately, I connected with a strong community of people, who were all working together in order to achieve a similar goal. My first desire of becoming a CrossFit coach started to develop in a short period of time, however, I knew there was one thing on my bucket list that I was 100% sure I needed to accomplish before moving on to any new chapters. I ended up going backpacking in Australia, Thailand, and Bali, which was such a rewarding experience. Although I was consistently on the move I made it a point to keep fitness a focus, including dropping into different CrossFit gyms in Australia. It was amazing to see that even on the other side of the world there were most of the same amazing qualities that I loved about CrossFit are still prevalent. When I came back from my travels one of the first things I did was go back to my previous CrossFit gym to get back into my routine. Since then, through every turn in life and even when I get off track I always end up back at CrossFit and it is always the highlight of my days. I officially started coaching in September 2020 when the opportunity was actually presented to me and it felt like the timing couldn't have been more perfect, as it was right before my husband and I got married. This felt like it was the point where things were all completely falling into place and I was extremely grateful for the opportunity. Recently, my husband and I moved to the Space Coast area and I came to Maverick looking for the type of community that originally drew me to CrossFit and I was fortunate enough to find even more. From the moment I came in, I have loved being part of the MAV family and love being a coach here even more.
I have always struggled with self-esteem and feeling good enough, so when I went traveling the main purpose was to learn to go with the flow and learn that in the end, I am in control of how I view myself. CrossFit has also helped me to remain in control of those feelings. As a coach, I am extremely motivated to be a cheerleader for others to remind them that they are in control of their feelings and that they should not let any of those doubts hold them back from reaching their goals in life.
I truly look forward to pushing those around me to be the best version of themselves. Watching people get stronger and overcome self-imposed limits is what motivates me daily. My biggest goal is for people to leave a session feeling confident in their strengths and capabilities. I especially love inspiring women to be as strong physically as they already are in their everyday lives. From personal experience, I know how therapeutic a good sweat session can be when going through anything, so being a part of that for others is a very rewarding experience. I am always ready with "motivational dance moves" to keep you working hard towards your goals.
